Where shall I go?
03:20
|
|||
Can’t figure where I want to be
There’s a thousand reasons every day
to change my way of thinking
But there’s still no reason good enough for me
There’s so many paths that I could easily walk on
And most of them look good and wide and free
A thousand pretty places where I could stop and dally
But there’s still no place that’s good enough for me
Where else could I go?
Who else could I hear?
You have the words of life.
What more could I know?
Who else should I fear?
You have the words of life.
There’s so many things that I’m still comprehending
Many things hard to believe
There’s a thousand easy answers that I could pin my hopes to
But there’s still no answer good enough for me.
Where else could I go?
Who else could I hear?
You have the words of life.
What more could I know?
Who else should I fear?
You have the words of life.

Thomas the Doubter
05:38
|
|||
Peter and Andrew, James and John
Called from their fishing boats to journey on
Matthew, the tax man, leaving wealth behind
Travelling onwards, new life to find
Philip, Bartholomew, Simon and Jude
Thaddaeus, and then the one who proved untrue
Ten faithful followers, for all to see
Judas who betrayed him – and then there’s me
Thomas the Doubter is my name
Doubting will always be my fame
I bear the title, I bear the shame
There goes Thomas the Doubter
I stood beside him as with love he spoke
Preaching the kingdom to the common folk
Healing and blessing all the ones in need
Lame men were leaping, and the captives freed
Huddled in panic in the boat was I
Jesus asleep until he heard our cry
I saw the sea becoming calm and still
Wind, waves and weather all obeyed his will
Thomas the Doubter is my name
Doubting will always be my fame
I bear the title, I bear the shame
There goes Thomas the Doubter
I followed, faithful, even when I knew
Death was the only end we had in view
“Let us go with him to Jerusalem”, said I
“That is the place where we all will die”
Nailed to the cross he was, and laid to rest
“Love one another” was his last bequest
I needed silence to absorb my pain
How could I ever know he’d rise again?
“Thomas, he’s risen” was the sudden word
Outside the moment that others shared
My heart too full to believe the truth
“Show me the wounds” I said –“I need proof”
Gracious, unflinching, Jesus by my side
Evidence that never could be denied
“Blessed are you, believing what you see
More blessed the sightless who believe in me”.
Thomas the Doubter now no more
But Thomas the servant of the Lord
I saw him risen, and I am sure
No more Thomas the Doubter

Emmaus
06:43

Verses
It’s a long, long way down a country road
And we’re walking tired and we’re walkin’ slow
Got hearts as heavy as a bag of lead
We thought he was something, but now he’s dead
Saw him walkin and talkin just the way he did
To the dads and the mommas and the little kids
With so many stories that you’ve never read
We thought he was something but now he’s dead.
And the things we saw, and the things we believed
And the miracles you never thought you’d ever see
Now we’re walkin this road with a tired tread
We thought he was something, but now he’s dead.
Then a stranger comes near, “Can I walk alongside?”
We shoulda been friendly but we never tried
“We’re just heading onwards, we’re lookin for a bed”
We thought he was something, but now he’s dead.
“Whatcha talkin about? Why are you so sad?
What’s on your mind – must be something bad!”
Too much to tell, too many tears been shed
We thought he was something, but now he’s dead.
Are you a stranger? Have you never heard
‘Bout the new Messiah and his powerful words
Jesus of Nazareth was his name, we said
We thought he was something, but now he’s dead.
Walk with us, talk with us
Maybe it’s not the end
Walk with us, talk with us
We’re starting to comprehend
Keep on talking, my friend
We were disciples, followed all the way
From the start of his journey to the final day
We’ve heard it and seen it, from A to Zed
We thought he was something, but now he’s dead.
“You fools!” said the stranger, “Your hearts are slow
You gotta believe before you can know
The Scriptures tell everything about the Christ
He has to suffer, and he has to die.
Walk with us, talk with us
Maybe it’s not the end
Walk with us, talk with us
We’re starting to comprehend
Keep on talking, my friend
“There’s a house just here – won’t you stay for the night
We been walking in darkness, but maybe there’s a light”.
Then he looked up to heaven and he broke the bread
We looked at one another – he’s no longer dead!
Straight back on the road, all our weariness gone
Back along that road to where we came from
Tried to tell the disciples, but they just said
He’s appeared to Peter – he’s no longer dead!
Walk with us, talk with us
Maybe it’s not the end
Walk with us, talk with us
We’re starting to comprehend
Keep on talking, my friend
